Acetoacetanilide is a valuable organic compound extensively used as an intermediate in the synthesis of azo dyes, pigments, and other specialty chemicals. Chemically known as N-phenyl-3-oxobutanamide, acetoacetanilide is a white to light yellow crystalline powder.
