Diet Changes that Can Help Control Weight Gain From PCOD

One out of ten women in their reproductive years suffer from PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease), a hormonal disorder. Hormonal imbalances, metabolism, and weight gain are common problems for women with PCOD. Thankfully, this weight can be managed with a few easy dietary adjustments and PCOD treatment in Mumbai.   • Consume foods high in fibre and whole grains. You must choose your carbs carefully if you want to avoid or control diabetes. Choose complex and nutrient-rich carbohydrates like those found in fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains because fibre helps regulate blood sugar levels and makes you feel fuller. Additionally, eating more fibre can help lower cholesterol.

  • Cut back on added sugars. Unnatural sweeteners add calories without providing any nutritional value, and too much sugar can cause obesity and other health issues. Consider using fruit or dark chocolate in place of candy, cake, or cookies. 

  • Don't add too much salt to your food. It is best to eat more home-cooked meals, as the majority of sodium is put in meals prepared in restaurants. Additionally, keep in mind that a low-sodium diet is not that bad. Spices and herbs, either dried or fresh, add a lot of flavour.

  • Go for heart-healthy fats. Use olive oil, or oils derived from nuts or seeds, in place of vegetable oil. However, keep in mind that heart-healthy fats are high in calories, so eat them sparingly.
