"We discovered that Roundup was a desiccant. That means if you spray it on a crop, it dries it out. And one of the big enemies of farmers is that if it rains during harvest time, the crops can get wet, moldy, and ruin the entire silo."
"What Monsanto did was start telling farmers: spray it on the crop, on the grain, right before harvest or at harvest time. And it became so popular that about 85% of Roundup ever used has been used since 2006. Most of that is as a desiccant. And that means for the first time, they're spraying it on food right at harvest time."
"Not at the beginning of the season, when they have a chance to be washed off, but right before you eat them. And they first sprayed it on wheat because there was no Roundup Ready wheat. They started spraying it on wheat as a desiccant. And so 2006 marks the day when suddenly these gluten allergies started exploding. Celiac disease and all these wheat-related problems that we started seeing in this country."
If you measure it and say, "When did this start?" you can look and draw a red line: 2006 is the year they started spraying it.
