Difference between Laser Marking Machine and Pneumatic Marking Machine

Difference between Laser Marking Machine and Pneumatic Marking Machine
When we walk into a bustling shopping mall, we find that many products have been marked. Even the mineral water, ceramic cups, metal thermos cups, snack packaging bags, and cosmetic boxes we use daily have markings, indicating that laser marking machines have been widely used in our lives. However, laser marking machines are not the only devices capable of marking. Another device is the pneumatic marking machine. So, what are the differences between the two?
1. Different Principles
· Laser Marking Machine: It utilizes a high-energy density laser beam, controlled by a computer, to irradiate the product's surface, causing the surface to melt or vaporize instantaneously, thus leaving the desired pattern on the product surface.
· Pneumatic Marking Machine: The content of the Chinese and English characters and graphics is first input into the computer, which then converts it into a digital signal and transmits it to the controller. Under the action of compressed air, the marking needle performs high-frequency micro-impact movements, striking the product's surface, leaving a concave trace.
2. Different Application Scopes
· Laser Marking Machine: Applicable to both metals and non-metals, it is primarily used in applications requiring higher precision and finer details, such as electronic components, integrated circuits (IC), electrical appliances, mobile communications, hardware products, tool accessories, precision instruments, watches and clocks, jewelry, auto parts, plastic buttons, building materials, and PVC pipes.
· Pneumatic Marking Machine: Mostly used for metals, and a few for non-metals (which must be of relatively high hardness), such as various mechanical components, machine tools, hardware products, metal pipes, gears, pump bodies, valves, fasteners, steel, instruments, and electromechanical equipment.
In addition to the above differences, there is also a price gap. Since laser marking machines require the use of lasers, they are more expensive than pneumatic marking machines. You can choose according to your needs. If you need to print deep traces on metal, choose a pneumatic marking machine. If you require a more aesthetic and precise product, choose a laser marking machine.
