June 2025: At the Latin America Visual Display Seminar in São Paulo, Samsung unveiled its latest innovations in display tech including Real Quantum Dot Neo QLEDs, Glare-Free2.0 OLED panels, and AI-powered Tizen OS features. These advancements aim to redefine connected home experiences across the region.

February 2025: Samsung’s GalaxyS25 pre-orders in Latin America surged 31% year-over-year, driven by strong uptake of Galaxy AI features which were leveraged over 1.157 billion times in the region since January 2024.

June 2024: Amazon and Vrio jointly announced a satellite internet service, set to launch in mid-2025 across seven South American countries including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. This initiative aims to expand connectivity to underserved areas.

2024 (Full Year): Latin American smartphone shipments reached a record 137 million units, up 15% from the previous year. Samsung led with a 31% market share, while Xiaomi, Transsion, and Honor all saw significant growth especially Honor, which surged 79% year-over-year.

Q1 2025: The smartphone market contracted 4% year-on-year, ending six quarters of growth amid economic headwinds. However, Brazil bucked the trend, growing 3% to 9.5 million units propelled by robust demand for affordable devices from brands like HONOR, Xiaomi, and realme.
