Next, UV sterilization (254 nm) destroys remaining microbes by breaking their DNA; 185 nm UV also reduces total organic carbon (TOC). Finally, ultrafiltration (UF, 0.01-0.1 μm pores) or microfiltration (MF) traps fine particles like colloids or resin beads, ensuring no tiny impurities remain.
Monitoring & Quality Control
Real-time checks keep water purity consistent. Conductivity/resistivity meters measure purity (e.g., >18.2 MΩ·cm at 25°C for Type I water), while TDS meters track solids. Pressure gauges and flow meters prevent membrane damage by maintaining stable conditions.
Automatic systems add reliability: the pump adjusts pressure, periodic flushes prevent membrane fouling, and alarms alert users to low purity or filter saturation. Post-production, ultra-clean tanks (stainless steel or food-grade plastic) store water, and loop circulation stops stagnation and bacterial growth.
