Tactical Strategies for Dominating the Vault Map

The Vault in bo6 bot lobbyBlack Ops 6 is a medium-sized, multi-layered map that emphasizes tight corridors, vertical engagements, and zone control. For players looking to master it, understanding layout flow and player behavior is critical. It’s a map that favors smart rotations, awareness of flanking lanes, and strategic use of equipment.

The Vault is built around a high-security underground banking facility. The central chamber, the Vault Room itself, is a circular area with catwalks above and entrances from three sides. Control of this room often dictates the pace of the match. Teams that maintain pressure here usually dominate the scoreboard. However, controlling the Vault doesn’t mean camping in the center. You have to hold the entrances and deny access to high ground.

Spawn points tend to be located in the Server Hallway and Freight Dock on either end of the map. These zones are relatively protected, but they can be overrun quickly due to the map's compact design. Early aggression often results in flipped spawns, so communication with teammates is essential. If your team pushes too deep into enemy territory without securing flanks, you'll find enemies spawning behind you.

Running an SMG or fast-handling AR is ideal on this map. The engagements tend to be close to mid-range, with few truly long sightlines. The outer corridor on the west wing gives the longest sightline across the map, but it's a high-risk lane—snipers often camp there, and explosive traps are common. Use this lane sparingly unless you're covering teammates pushing into the Vault.

Scorestreaks that work well on this map include UAV, Counter UAV, and Sentry Gun. Due to the enclosed structure, aerial streaks like the Chopper Gunner are often ineffective unless you control the outer courtyard. A well-placed Sentry Gun on the upper catwalk in the Vault Room can control an entire lane, making it almost impossible for enemies to push through.

Tactical equipment like Flashbangs and Gas Grenades are especially useful in the tight tunnels and stairwells. Use them to flush out campers or create a window to push an objective. Trophy Systems also become invaluable when holding the central chamber, as grenades and Thermite spam are common tactics to disrupt control.

For objective modes like Domination, Point B is usually in the Vault Room. This turns the center of the map into a warzone. Coordinated pushes from two sides—one through the Server Hallway, the other from the Security Room—can overwhelm defenders. In Hardpoint, expect intense back-and-forth battles as the point rotates between the Vault, upper atrium, and sub-level loading dock.

To win on the Vault, smart movement and map knowledge are more important than reflexes alone. Don’t overextend, always watch your mini-map, and coordinate with your team to control choke points. When played correctly, the Vault can become a map where strategic players dominate the chaos with clean rotations and tight zone control.
