Say hello to Orbs, Discord’s new in-app currency that lets users earn rewards simply by watching ads or interacting with brand campaigns. While it may sound like a fantasy RPG quest, the reality is a bit more grounded: you become part of Discord’s experimental ad-based reward system.

Previously, advertisers on Discord could only give away their own perks via the Quests feature. With Orbs, Discord has added a universal currency that any campaign can offer as a reward. Orbs are currently in beta and only available on desktop platforms, either via the app or browser. Once you’re in, you can access Quests under the “Discover” tab and redeem your Orbs in the Shop under Direct Messages.
