Con l’approvazione dell’accordo da parte del governo israeliano, è entrato subito in vigore il cessate il fuoco a Gaza. Così come prevede il documento siglato in Egitto giovedì mattina e ratificato a mezzanotte e mezzo (ora italiana) dall’esecutivo di Gerusalemme. L’Idf si ritirerà fino alla Linea Gialla indicata nelle mappe dell’accordo entro le prossime 24 ore, al termine delle quali Hamas dovrà rilasciare tutti gli ostaggi vivi entro 72 ore in cambio di circa 2.000 prigionieri di sicurezza palestinesi. La maggior parte dei ministri del governo Netanyahu ha votato a favore dell’accordo; si sono opposti i ministri di estrema destra del Partito Sionista Religioso del ministro delle Finanze Bezalel Smotrich, a eccezione del ministro Ofir Sofer che ha votato a favore. Contrari anche tutti i membri del partito ultranazionalista Otzma Yehudit. L’esercito israeliano si ritirerà ora su nuove linee all’interno della Striscia di Gaza, mantenendo un dispiegamento che controlla circa il 53% del territorio di Gaza.
