The U.S. Department of Labor mandates the provision of portable fire extinguishers to employees working in business enterprises of the U.S., under its Occupational Safety and Health Standards. As per the fire protection regulations, employers shall provide fire extinguishers that can be used on Class A, B, C, and D fire hazards. Likewise, the National Building Code of India lays down the guidelines on the construction, maintenance, and fire safety of structures. The "Fire & Life Safety" clause of this code needs to be included in the bye-laws of buildings, as per the guidelines.

The implementation of stringent fire safety laws will help the fire extinguishers market progress in the upcoming years. With the booming population and mounting investments being made in the construction sector of developing and developed countries, the world is observing a considerable surge in construction activities. Owing to this reason, fire extinguishers will be adopted in abundance in industrial plants, residential structures, and commercial structures. Furthermore, the APAC region will also adopt a considerable volume of fire extinguishers in the forthcoming years. Green Building Code of this council is a combination of codes and standards of the National Building Code and the Energy Conservation Building Code and rating programs of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-India.
