The square neck fits into a pre-drilled hole and prevents rotation while tightening a nut and washer on the opposite side. Carriage bolts are widely used in projects where aesthetics matter, such as furniture, decks, fences, and playground equipment. Their smooth head ensures a clean, finished appearance, making them ideal for visible wood surfaces.
