Favorite Augments and Must-Try Setups

One standout augment is Turtle Shell, which acts like regular armor but protects you completely from damage on your back, reducing armor durability only if hit from behind. It’s a must-have for players who want reliable defense.

Another highly recommended augment is Vulture Aid’s Armormatic, which has been improved in Season 1. Previously, Armormatic automatically equipped armor from the ground even if your vest wasn’t depleted, often wasting armor plates. Now, it waits until you’re a full armor plate down before auto-equipping, and it can pull from your reserve if you take significant damage. This makes armor management effortless for players who prefer to focus on combat rather than micromanaging armor.

When it comes to health regeneration, Light Men’s new augment, Booster Shot, allows glyphs to overheal you, providing up to 350–400 health depending on other modifiers. This is especially powerful when combined with augment setups like Extension or Haste, which increase the frequency and utility of Light Men drops.

Mule Kick also sees improvements with the new Multiack augment, which gives a chance for one of your secondary weapons to be pack-a-punched when you upgrade your primary weapon. While currently bugged, this augment can be a game-changer for high-round strategies once fixed.

Ammo Mods and Damage Enhancements

Shatter Blast introduces a minor augment called Blast Through, increasing damage through armor. This is especially useful against armored zombies in boss fights or high rounds, offering significant DPS improvements.

The Dark Flare augment Muzzle Blast expands its cone of damage, allowing you to hit nearby zombies more effectively, enhancing both defensive and offensive playstyles.

For Brain Rot enemies, new augments like Costic Fumes and Super Serum increase toxic damage and crowd control, making them ideal for relic challenges or camo grinding. Additionally, pairing Pheromone with Haste and Extension creates a free decoy effect, controlling zombie movement efficiently.

Niche Augments and Utility

Some older augments remain situationally powerful. PhD Environmentalist and Tribologist are perfect for boss fights, letting you slide through hazards without taking damage. Gravity Well enhances Shadow Rift by pulling enemies into a central area, making it easier to manage large waves when paired with Elemental Pop.

Bugged or Malfunctioning Augments

While the augment system is fantastic, several currently suffer from bugs:

Multiack (Mule Kick) doesn’t always work or can break after saving and quitting.

Healing Aura, Necromancer, and Stoic Presence sometimes fail to function.

Melee Macchiato doesn’t work with the Ballistic Knife.

Blast Chain for Shatter Blast fails to trigger extra explosions.

Void Sheath prevents re-plating armor while active.

Death Perception has glitches with loot highlighting and Six Sense.

Equivalent Exchange and Aftertaste trigger incorrectly after revives.

Condor’s Reach of Vulture Aid occasionally fails to extend pickup radius.

Stone Cold Stronghold for Frost Blast doesn’t mitigate storm damage as intended.

These issues highlight the need for further fixes and optimization by the developers, though many augments still function beautifully in daily gameplay.

Black Ops 7’s augment system is one of the most exciting additions to Zombies yet, offering countless ways to customize your loadout and approach challenges strategically.
