If you’re still sneaking around at the edge of the map hoping no one spots you, you’re playing it safe but missing the real fun. I used to do that, hiding while the bold players grabbed all the rewards, until I figured out that the real climb starts when you push into fights. Aggression isn’t just a risky play—it’s the best way to get ahead. You’ve gotta see other scavengers as walking loot drops and hunt them down. Once you’ve got the mindset, it’s about gear selection, and grabbing the right ARC Raiders Items can really tilt things in your favour.

Gear That Keeps You Moving

Weight will kill you faster than bullets in this game. Those chunky heavy shields look good on paper, but they slow you to a crawl. I switched to a Medium Shield with the Combat Mk. 3 augment and never looked back. Enough protection to take a hit, but still quick enough to get around someone’s flank. For guns, I stick to the Bettina AR with a recoil stabilizer for solid mid-range work. Close up, the Bobcat SMG is insane—barely moves when firing and cuts through health bars like they’re paper. And don’t forget stims; being able to heal while running is the only way I’ve ever lived through getting jumped by more than one player.

Mastering Movement

Movement is where the skill gap really shows. If you’re just running in a straight line, you’ll get picked off every time. The best players chain slides, rolls, and weapon swaps to make themselves a nightmare to hit. My favourite trick: jump into a slide, swap weapons mid-air, and you’ll throw off anyone aiming at you—it messes with your hitbox. I’ve got my dodge roll on a side mouse button, so I can roll, slide, and peek corners almost instantly. Feels a bit “try-hard,” but it’s how fights get won.

Playing Dirty Pays Off

If you crack someone’s shield, don’t give them a second to breathe—finish it. I love dropping a Snitch Core near a squad, spawning ARC machines right on them. It’s chaos they can’t control. For map control, ziplines are perfect traps. A Jolt Mine at the bottom will bag you easy kills on anyone landing. Think about the map as part of your kit; use it to shut down enemy movement and create openings.

The grind for unlocks can be a slog when all you want is to get into fights. Cutting out the farming time with something like picking up ARC Raiders weapons means you can focus on improving your PvP skills instead of rummaging through junk. Once you’re geared and confident, there’s nothing stopping you from owning every raid you drop into.
