KL University & QNX collaborate to launch Advanced Training and Certification Centre
KL University has joined hands with QNX, the global real-time operating system owned by BlackBerry, to set up a major training and certification center designed to prepare future engineers for high-precision industries in automotive and aerospace. This collaboration strengthens KL University's position as one of the top universities in Vijayawada , working closely with industry on advanced technology training.
As part of its India initiative, QNX selected KL University as the first institution to host this full-fledged training ecosystem. The center is equipped with software and hardware valued at over ₹1.25 crore and focuses on real-time embedded systems.
Before student training begins, QNX conducted a rigorous selection process for faculty across Andhra Pradesh. Through online sessions, written tests, and interviews, 58 faculty members from 19 colleges and universities were shortlisted, including seven from KL University. Their week-long Faculty Development Program started on November 24 at the newly established QNX Center on campus.
After the on-site sessions, participants will continue with self-paced project work for one and a half months to qualify for QNX certification. Once certified, these faculty members will train selected students from all 19 institutions, creating a talent pipeline for placement opportunities in QNX, PiSquare, and client companies.
The program was inaugurated by KL University Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr N. Venkatram, who spoke about the value of industry-aligned collaborations in improving faculty capabilities and enhancing student employability. Dean of Skill Development Dr A. Srinath thanked QNX and PiSquare for choosing KL University and highlighted the university's network of 34 skill development centers covering cloud technologies, cybersecurity, CRM tools, Apple technologies, and more.
PiSquare's iSET Academy Head M. Dasaratha and his expert team launched the technical sessions, marking the start of an intensive upskilling journey for faculty and, soon, for students entering high-end engineering domains.
