  • Pensavo di cambiare la mia vecchia Chevrolet st.wagon con una auto moderna, ma a parte i costi esagerati ho constatato una serie di problemi delle auto odierne rispetto a quelle di venti anni fa in cui a mio parere avevano raggiunto la perfezione tra funzionalità ed eleganza.
    1) MISURE. Auto sempre più larghe ma i nostri box sono rimasti quelli di 50 anni fa quando la Giulia era 160 cm, la R4 150, e la 500 140.
    Oggi anche le piccole utilitarie sono, a parte alcune, sopra i 170 con specchietti che non si chiudono completamente e arriviamo a 180. Troppo.
    Con le porte di 2 metri entrare e uscire è sempre un patema.
    2) INTERNI CLAUSTROFOBICI, lussuosi ma non comodi.
    Provate a salire o scendere dalla parte del passeggero se non potete scendere a sinistra per qualunque motivo.
    È diventato un esercizio per contorsionisti con i tunnel sempre più alti e ingombranti, e su certe toyota praticamente impossibile.
    Andrebbero messe fuori legge o obbligata una prova di evacuazione dalla parte sbagliata in sede di omologazione.
    3) PERICOLO. Mettiamo che qualcuno non espertissimo cerchi aprire la portiera posteriore per salvarvi da un incendio dopo un incidente.
    In certe auto la maniglia è abilmente occultata nei vari pannelli e priva di segnalazioni visive, ma anzi di colore nero su nero.
    Pericolosissimo, andrebbe imposta la immediata riconoscibilità della maniglia.
    4) VISIBILITÀ , salendo su una monovolume ho visto che non vedevo nulla.
    Il parabrezza piccolo e molto distante, i montanti enormi, toglievano una bella fetta di luce a sinistra molto vicino al centro visivo.
    Altro pericolo di incidenti gravi nelle rotonde che hanno precedenza a sinistra.
    5) POCO SPAZIO, grandi fuori, piccole dentro.
    Ho visto auto enormi con bagagliaio ridicolo, sedili di spessore esagerato, linea di cintura altissima per i passeggeri che restano chiusi dentro e con i poggiatesta alla fine non vedono nulla.
    6) DISTRAZIONI, troppe distrazioni e segnali sonori. Salito su una giapponese di un amico nuova era un continuo bip e bep e rumori strani di segnalazioni e avvisi. Ok, ma siamo uomini o caporali? Allora fatevi la vostra guida autonoma e sia finita.
    Poi schermi giganti, comandi digitali, sistemi automatici, e diavolerie di ogni tipo.
    Non nego che l'ABS, il navigatore e il segnalatore del colpo si sonno siano utili, ma basta così per favore.
    6) FORME, Poi a mio parere di architetto, alcune categorie di auto sono veramente tutte uguali, dove i designer sembrano cresciuti guardando mazingaZ e GigUfoRobot.
    Tutte forme pretenziose, spigolose, esagerate e inutili.
    ALLA FINE ho deciso che tirerò avanti con la mia vecchia familiare Nubira che nella sua dimessa semplicità va benissimo, non ha tutti questi difetti e con i suoi 173cm di larghezza riesco ancora a farla entrare nel box.
