Tiranga, India’s national flag, is a powerful symbol of the country’s freedom, unity, and heritage. It has three horizontal bands — saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth, and green for growth and prosperity. The navy-blue Ashoka Chakra at the center represents justice, progress, and the eternal wheel of life. Adopted on 22 July 1947, the Tiranga honors the sacrifices of freedom fighters and embodies India’s democratic values. Hoisted on national holidays, government buildings, schools, and homes, it inspires patriotism, pride, and a sense of unity among all Indians.
